MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of The Conservatory of the Plains and Academy of the Arts to establish an institution to further arts associated education and performance in less densely populated regions where such opportunities may not be readily available.  Through this endeavor we will offer the citizens of the communities concentrated studies in music, theater, and film and associated artistic disciplines as well as the venue for public and private performance.  Our goal is to introduce young people to the arts in a setting where they can observe and learn from professionals in the various fields.  We will also provide enhancement to the programs of the local schools (public and private) by providing areas of study not currently in their curriculum but which are desired for a well-rounded education experience.  The program is also designed for adults who want to pursue an education in music, theater, or film arts or who wish to learn vocational skills that will support these endeavors.  Those skills include the business of the arts (i.e. accounting, managing, public relations, etc.), set design, set construction, culinary arts, transportation, and the myriad other associated fields that accompany the performance and entertainment industries.

We feel duty-bound to recognize and reward the brave men and women who risked all to serve our country and preserve the freedoms that make projects such as ours possible; therefore, particular preference will be given to our military veterans and their family members in the processes of auditions, enrollment, and any available financial aid.
